Sacramento to host 2007 World TeamTennis Championship Weekend, July 27-29
Three-day event to be held at Westfield Galleria at Roseville

NEW YORK, N.Y. (November 16, 2006) – The 2007 World TeamTennis Championship Weekend presented by Advanta will be held July 27-29 at the home court of the Sacramento Capitals, Allstate Stadium at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville in Roseville, Calif. WTT officials awarded the event to the Capitals for the 4th time in League history.

The top two teams from the Western and Eastern Conferences will advance to the WTT Championship Weekend after the 2007 regular season, which runs July 5-25. Conference championships will be decided during the semifinal matches on Friday, July 27, and Saturday, July 28. The conference champions advance to the WTT Championship on Sunday, July 29, to battle for the King Trophy.

The Capitals move to a new site this summer, the parking lot at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, where they will play their seven home regular season matches. The court is located on the southeast corner of the mall near Nordstrom.

WTT officials awarded the event to the Capitals because of their proven track record as one of the League’s most successful franchises, according to WTT CEO/Commissioner Ilana Kloss. “We’re confident that the Capitals can stage a successful championship weekend,” said Kloss. “Their new venue will make a terrific showcase for our premier event and the Capitals fan base is one of the most enthusiastic and supportive in World TeamTennis.”

Sacramento co-owner Lonnie Nielson expects the Capitals to be part of the lineup for the finals weekend. “We’re going to put together the strongest team possible and if we do our job on the court this summer, we’ll have the opportunity to play for the King Trophy in front of our fans,” he said. Nielson hopes to bring back the core of his 2006 team including Elena Likhovtseva, Mark Knowles, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and hometown favorite Sam Warburg.

Season ticket packages are currently available and will include tickets to the WTT Championship Weekend. Season tickets are available through the Capitals ticket office at 916.638.4001 or can be purchased in person at the Capitals ticket kiosk in Westfield Galleria beginning Nov. 20, 2006 through January 6, 2007.

Sacramento is a perennial front-runner, having won the WTT Championship a record 5 times. In 2006, the Capitals were knocked out in the semifinals by the Newport Beach Breakers. The Philadelphia Freedoms dominated the Breakers in the Championship match to win the 2006 title.
